Terwijl je aan je glas versgeperst vruchtensap nipt, vraag je je af of je hond ook niet een verfrissing kan gebruiken. Hoeveel water heeft je hond eigenlijk nodig? Hoe weet je of hij niet te veel drinkt of net te weinig? Je vindt het antwoord in deze blog.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoeveel water heeft je hond nodig?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verschillende elementen bepalen de behoefte aan water van je hond:<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<ul><li><strong>Het gewicht van je hond<\/strong>: Een gezonde, volwassen hond heeft per dag ongeveer 50 ml water per kilo nodig. Een hond van 20 kilo bijvoorbeeld moet dus dagelijks gemiddeld \u00e9\u00e9n liter water drinken.<\/li><li><strong>De buitentemperatuur<\/strong>: Het spreekt voor zich dat je hond meer zal drinken bij warm weer. De reden is duidelijk: hoe warmer het is, hoe meer je hond zal hijgen om zijn lichaamstemperatuur op peil te houden. Dat vochtverlies moet je beste vriend natuurlijk compenseren door te drinken. (+link)<\/li><li><strong>De intensiteit van zijn activiteit<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Een zogende hond<\/strong>: heeft meer water nodig omdat ze melk voor haar pups moet aanmaken.<\/li><li><strong>De gezondheid van de hond<\/strong> be\u00efnvloedt de hoeveelheid water die hij drinkt. Een hond die meer drinkt dan 100 ml per kilo per dag, kan gezondheidsproblemen hebben zoals suikerziekte, een nierprobleem of een infectie. Als je er niet zeker van bent, vraag het zeker aan je dierenarts.<\/li><li><strong>De voeding<\/strong> van je hond heeft natuurlijk invloed op de hoeveelheid water die hij drinkt. Een thuismaaltijd kan tot 80% water bevatten. Het gevolg? Wat zijn de symptomen?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Er zijn een aantal signalen die je kunnen waarschuwen:<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<ul><li>Je hond draait rond zijn waterbakje, dat is zonder twijfel duidelijk.<\/li><li>Als je de huid van zijn nek plooit, komt ze niet meteen weer op haar plaats.<\/li><li>Je hond plast niet of zijn urine is heel geconcentreerd.<\/li><li>Het tandvlees en de tong zijn droog.<\/li><li>Je hond lijkt teneergeslagen.<\/li><li>Samen met andere symptomen kan een droge neus op dehydratie wijzen.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat kun je doen als je hond gedehydrateerd is?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p>Aarzel niet om het advies van je dierenarts te vragen als je twijfelt. Hij zal de situatie analyseren en een behandeling aanbevelen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p>Het eerste wat je in ieder geval moet doen, is je hond water geven (opgelet: hij mag zijn waterbakje niet in drie tellen leegdrinken). Als de symptomen aanhouden, moet je met je hond op consultatie bij de dierenarts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoe kun je dehydratatie voorkomen?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<ul><li>Er moet voor je hond altijd proper water op kamertemperatuur klaarstaan.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Bij grote hitte, geef bij voorkeur voedsel met waterhoudende ingredi\u00ebnten (bijv. courgette).<\/li><li>Oudere of zieke honden: bescherm hen tegen de hitte en directe zon.<\/li><li>Voor puppy\u2019s:&nbsp; als je puppy vloeibare ontlasting heeft of braakt, bel dan onmiddellijk naar je dierenarts.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat je zeker moet onthouden<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"default__block container-fluid lg \">\n<p>Als je denkt dat je hond onvoldoende of net te veel drinkt, aarzel dan niet om je dierenarts te raadplegen.
